A Flag for Anglesey

Proposed Anglesey Flag

Hi Wil,

I was just wondering whether you had come across this Anglesey facebook/twitter campaign:

www.facebook.com/AngleseyFlag

twitter.com/#!/AngleseyFlag.

Perhaps it might be worth getting in touch with their organisers and promoting the idea?

My name is Philip Tibbetts and I am the Assistant to the Chief Vexillologist of the Flag Institute. Given the recent success of the Caernarfonshire county flag it seems natural for Anglesey to have an official flag too - so I personally would like to see the facebook/twitter campaign succeed!

Based on your website, Anglesey Hidden Gem, being very vocal in promoting local identity - including symbols (the 'County Flower' article is especially good (not just for the amusing Dr Who references)) - it seems that the idea of getting a flag for Anglesey would be one that fitted your website well

All the best and I hope you find that campaign interesting and exciting

Warmest regards

Philip Tibbetts
Assistant to the Chief Vexillologist

Dear Philip

What an absolutely brilliant proposal.

Let's hoist it up the flagpole and see if anyone salutes.

Dear Gentle Readers

Please support this most appropriate campaign for our Anglesey Island community.

We already have an unique identity and it would be fitting.

Click the 'Like' button and/ or Twitter links on this page and on the Facebook and Twitter campaign pages.

Please spread the news far and wide.

Thanks for your kind words, Philip,

Wil

A Druidic Flag For Anglesey?
by: Anonymous

Hi Wil

Like the Anglesey Penny of the late 1700s, I reckon Anglesey should have a flag with a Druidic flavour - for obvious reasons.

And maybe a mention of CAE COCH from the bloody fields of south Anglesey's forces repelling of the Roman invasion..

Best wishes
