Canadian relatives

Hi Wil
My father's first cousins emigrated to Alberta pre-war. One already had a job as a policeman, the other a prison warder.
Lewis Hughes was a very good looking man, like a lot of the family very dark - according to my father. Lewis had got his sweetheart pregnant and literally, as the Cunard liner, was easing off the landing stage at the Pier Head, the girl's father appeared and was dancing with rage on the landing stage.
Lewis did the decent thing and when he had settled down in Alberta, he sent over for her and their child and they married.
Our Canadian relatives used to visit the UK, visitng Ynys Mon and Liverpool. However, Dad's cousins in Liverpool never told him about our visiting Welsh Canadian relatives.
My maternal grandmother emigrated to Nebraska in 1905 but came back, going through Ellis Island. I was in New York 15 months ago and visiting Ellis Island was very emotional for me.
