Where To Fish And Camp On Anglesey?

by Phil

Hi Wil

I'm thinking of doing a bit of fishing this weekend but have no idea where to fish or camp!

Any suggestions for a novice angler?

Cheers,

Phil

Hi Phil

I won't detain you with my advice but will immediately direct you to http://www.wirralseafishing.co.uk.

You will find some very up to the minute details about exactly how areas are fishing.

Join the forum and ask your question about camping.

Sorry for the delay in responding as quickly as I usually do. Family illness.

Moelfre seems to be yielding plenty of Mackerell at the moment. Check out the Report and Forums.

More Mackerell Than You Could Shake A Grey Seal At
by: Wil from Anglesey Hidden Gem

Dear Phill, Gordon and Andy,

I read the report for Moelfre for a couple of days ago on the Wirral Seafishing site. One angler caught 59 mackerell.

Big freezer, I hope.

Tight lines and watch out for grey seals on the East Coast at Lligwy Beach.

Mac Fish.
by: Drewz..

Hi Wil and Phill

I know a kid who sold me a load of fresh-caught Mackerel when I was visiting Red Wharf Bay on Ynys Mon ( Anglesey island's name herein pronounced "unnis mawn" by locals ).

I was surprised at the quality and size of these fish that this enterprising lad had caught!

Fishing.
by: Gordon

Dear Phill

If I was me, I'd use a large, center pin, Aussie 'Alvey' reel, 700C5 surf caster. And watch the distance fly, as it does. It would reach areas and fixed depths that are probably 'all yours'.

A friend of mine in a similar spot, here.. well his line went over a small bird-island rock, and he had to cut it.

Tairoa Head here, near Dunedin, NZ is similar topography. Was fun for sure,

Gordon.
